Hi Ross, thanks for viewing and commenting. As many times as I looked at this image in post I did not notice the blue/purple fringing in that area. I worked on it in using the Lightroom tool to remove purple fringing and also in Photoshop Elements. I rotated the 4x5 crop for more background area on both sides. Thanks again, much appreciated.

Great work on the fringing Joe. The bird seems to have more breathing room now :) Lhs seems great. I am wondering if something was lost with that much more room on the rhs though? Also seeing in my minds eye how a square crop may work here. I am a bit uncertain about these things, would be interesting to see what the others think :)

Perhaps simply doubling the amount of space in front of the bill (from the OP) would be good enough to give that bill a bit of space to breath. Good portrait otherwise with plenty of good detail, with only the sheen on the bill being a bit strong.
