This is the same bird as my post from yesterday. The midnight light was so warm and golden. When he and his hen got out of the pond closest to us, crossed the ice and headed for the farther one, I thought I was in heaven. Quite a heavy crop, but I did not have time to change to my 2x and didn't want to risk missing the action. I'll post his hen next.

Hi Grace, this looks more than fine if you state its a heavy crop. Love the walking pose with the raised foot, and great that we get to see a full body shot, after yesterday's swimming pose. Well exposed throughout the image too. Im in two minds about the FG, as coming up from the bottom to the underside of the ice, still leaves you enough room below. What an amazing looking duck.

I like the ice bridge and the stepping pose.

I like the purposeful walking pose, ice and layers in the image. Look forward to seeing the Hen. Nice image Grace.

Love the layers here, the raised foot and the duck really pops right off of the screen. The light is stunning, and I actually like him small in the frame. You always show such attention to detail and composition, Grace!
