    Default High-key Willet

A very overcast and dull morning at Fort DeSoto, so when I saw how the sea looked I decided to try some high key shots instead of the usual full of colour efforts.

Typical I suppose - you fly thousands of miles to get the same light we get daily over here! At least the birds are a bit tamer...

    Mike:

Looks like he is walking on a cloud, striking, and effective. Sharp, well exposed.

An alternative take would be to have just enough detail in the foreground/around the legs, to ground the bird a bit more. Not sure if you have enough to work with to create that effect.

    Fits the theme very well.

You are rocking these willet shots.
I like the ethereal "bird in heaven, walking on clouds" feeling of this image.
    Good exposure.
I might try to dodge the little line of sand to lighten it a bit but otherwise all looks good to me,

I'm really liking this! A bit of a worn plumage here, but it does add character to the image. I agree with Gail about that line, but otherwise really nicely done.

This works so well and has such a dreamy effect. The bird really stands out and the high key works well.

Hi Mike, I like the leaning pose, tack sharp, and the colours pop so well against the lighter BG.
