    Captured image this past May at a local preserve on a slightly overcast day. C&C welcome.

    D4s, Nikon 500mm + 1.7 TC, 1/1000s, f 8.0, ISO 800, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    Some distracting dried twigs and grasses removed in cs6.

    I love the calling pose, what a colorful bird. The perch and BG are a bit distracting but at the same time show us the habitat

    Agree about the bg ,but the bird itself looks excellent on it's natural perch, really like the singing pose.

    Well done getting him within range; not an easy feat. Great colors and singing pose. I can almost hear his sweet high tweedle. A bit of crop from the bottom might reduce some of the distracting twigs and still leave some sense of habitat.

    Tough to get them in anything but what you have shown... the bird looks terrific.
