    Default Great Blue Heron

I had an early doctor's appointment this morning, after the appointment I went to one of the local lakes in Lakeland, Florida. While standing on the edge of the lake looking for a bird to photograph this heron flew in and landed next to me. For a short while we shared some of the same earth. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Isn't it great when sharing a certain rapport with wildlife! Techs and details look spot on. Perhaps a wee bit better head angle (the eye rotated forward makes the head look turned a bit away even if it is not). In a few months the used and "peeling" bill it will be looking shiny new for the breeding season

Nice portrait of a common bird in not such stunning plumage, but they all deserve attention. You acquired lovely details here.

Joe think it would be impossible to find fault with the colour and detail certainly in my eyes, fine portrait.

    Nice one Joe
Always good birds to see close up. I reckon a teeny drop in brightness would give it a little "oomph ", but no big deal.
    Great detail.

Hey Joe, perhaps you should think of more Doc appointments, as this is really nice and with good detail too . Agree with Dan about a slight head turn, but no deal breaker. Have you thought about flipping it, just another option and it may 'sit' better?

Looks like things are coming along nicely with LR, well done.

Congratulations Joe, that is one of the finest heron portraits I have seen, the detail is wonderful.
