    Default Ring-billed Gull.

A plain-Jane BG here, but the pose the gull gave me here was pretty cool I thought. It was flying past in a straight enough line but suddenly manoeuvred in this way to start a sudden dive to chase a fellow gull that had just grabbed a river mussel. The two subsequent frames before letting go the shutter button featured nothing but beautiful blue sky.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/3200s., f/8, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for comp, some detail extraction via burn tool, NR to the BG.

Gull in full dive, neat. It looks like it is falling out of the sky. Interesting image, Daniel. Thank you for sharing.

    IQ and exposure are perfect.
I wish the far wing was in full extension. Just feels a bit awkward to me.

Tricky to get the exposure correct and you have got it to perfection. I like the way that the tail is fanned out. Detail on the feathers is great. Ditto Gail's comment on the wing. They never do what you would like them to do!!

Yes that is a cool pose Daniel. Especially tricky must have been to get that acrobat in the frame with the reach your lens and TC has! Everything looks great in this shot to me.
    Thanks Daniel,
    Ross
