    Default Stilt in flight

One of my early bird photos from a NW Sydney lagoon. I was rapt when I got this shot many years ago.

It's our Aussie version of the Black-winged Stilt (now I think they call it White-headed).

A bit embarrassing to even mention the camera, but hey; it still works today and I don't need the latest gear to make me happy.

    30D, 300/4L IS USM + 1.4x, ISO 500
    f/8, 1/1250th, Av mode with -1EC

Cropped to about 70% of FF.

Looks good! Perfect wings down position, great BG that shows a hint of habitat, and well balanced crop. I like the trailing legs too. If the iris is red I might be tempted to bring that out a bit more but other than that, super! I got lots of good pictures with the 30D too, but I would have a hard time going back to it now!

Love the down stroke symmetrical wings, nicely trailed legs, superb HA and beautiful two toned BG.
    Great show.

Wonderful, I don't know how you could improve the image. I would love this in my files, I'm jealous. Thank you for sharing, Akos.

Perfect capture Akos. Great detail on the bird and a brilliant POV. Pops perfectly from the nice BG.

A great picture from the old days...again..in good hands that gear worked fine. Nice down stroke, sharp, nice BG, nice feel of habitat as well. Good work, Ákos.

Hey Akos, often amazed to reflect back on old image taken with the early cameras, the basics are still being used, you just have a few more options nowadays, LOL.

Cracking image, I wonder if adding some depth (tone) back into the wings may help, the light looks very even and perhaps a little thin, basically a hint more richness, but not much. just my take.
