These guys seemingly spend most of their time with their heads down as they poke and probe the wet sand and mud for tiny morsels of food.
Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/100s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for comp, some debris in the water removed, added the catchlight.
Very nice Dan. You have captured the foraging very well. Good idea to include a catchlight.
Love your low POV and as always nice IQ and I like the soft light.
I am OK with the green kelp to the left.

Hi Daniel, cool POV and a very nice perspective, getting low and dirty always works and provided a lovely one to one with the subject. Incredible techs, 1/100s not something I would look too, but you pulled it off, nice work. Overall colour and placement spot on, my only thought is, if there is any sharpening applied on the lighter 'ring' around the head I might mask that out and just have the head & bill sharp, to me it is emphasised to much by being lighter.
