Default TGIF - Royal tern belting it out

    Attached Images Attached Images

Continuing my break from loons; this royal tern was imaged in 3/2010 and never processed. Taken on Boca Grande, Fl.

    D300 70-300 f/6.3 ISO 800 1/800s

Post: slight crop from top for comp. Brought up the very dull original catchlight, removed a small piece of debris behind the bird. Selective sharpening

    Advice and comments always appreciated.

    Cheers

Boca Grande... Gasparilla Island, lovely place to spend time. Nice image, the open bill calling pose made me smile. Perfect techs as always, lovely composition. Thank you for sharing, Randy.

Good tern shot Randy- nicely handled whites, with the bright sand too. be nice with more on the right but no big deal.

Very nice Randy. Love the colours. The colour of the sand reminds me of my recent trip to the Outer Hebrides. Great pose and facial expression. Lovey POV. Nice work

Excellent pose, but for me the image is just a little tight. That's more my taste of course.
Like the gentle lighting, my fave for white birds if not able to get late or early sun.

Well done Randy. That old tank of yours worked well in the day.
    Thanks for sharing.

I agree with Akos here. I hope the bird did not deafen you since you were pretty close:)

I like this one a lot! The singing pose is very good. And the exposure control is excellent. The sliver of DOF is perfect. Everthing seems to fit together nicely.

I agree the comp feels tight, but I like the pose, clean beach, open bill. Good techs and processing too.

Yes, these guys do come packed with attitude. Great pose. The breast looks nice and white, the rest feels slightly magenta to me.
