Default Little owl at sunset in natural enviroment

I have had a full day off work today and apart from the usual meal and toilet breaks I have spent a dawn to dusk day at one of my sites, I am rather knackered but it is something I have wanted to do for a long time, I didn't get my first action until 7.30 am although one of the juveniles was having a dust bath at 6.30 am and rather funny to watch,i have come away with loads of images from flight shots to just plain old perched up shots ,this shot is my favourite of the day as it was taken literally just before the sun was about to set and I was not expecting him to land here as I was set up for flight shots ,hence not having time to change my setting .......canon 1d mkiv 300mm f4 at 5.6 1/1600 sec iso 800 Name: Little-owl-at-sunset-(1-of-1).jpg-bpn.jpged.jpg

The light and the gold tones of the image are excellent.10 out of 10.
I would clone out the wire fence in a New York minute!
    Good IQ.
Was there any way for you to capture these little owls without the fence in the BG?
Another option would be a vertical crop to remove some of the impact of the fence.

Excellent capture. You might benefit if you are able to erect perches to help with the visual aspects of perch and background, if that's possible?

A tiny bit of head turn left would have been ideal.
Another vote to erase the fence, should be easy....

Thanks all or the comments ,this may seem daft but I wanted the fence in the shot, normaly I look for clean backgrounds but on this occasion he landed were he did and I so it as a fully natural spot for him,but if the weather is fine tonight the fence goes and I will try for another

I too would have preferred no fence. Man that is some sweet light. Great colours to the BG, and nice perch with just enough of it showing.
