    D7000, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 800, 1/1000 @ f/6.3 manual, Gitzo and Mongoose.

    I love the head- so sharp and lovely with that pop of red.
    Good comp.
    The wing position is nice but the wing texture looks odd ? noise ?PP

    Wish my eyes where as good as Gails to see the finer details , the head ,eye and beak hold my attention, very well taken shot Bill.

    Thank you both. Yes, Gail, there is something funky about the underwing. I'm not sure what I did. I know I brightened it up a bit, which probably introduced some noise, but I don't remember what else I may have done. I'm sure it's a processing issue of some kind.

    A good capture Bill ....I think the issues are those of which you are aware. Certainly a fine bird and one I'd love to have!
