    Quite the little urban dweller eh! I love the grumpy look with the dishevelled plumage. The central comp work well with the head-on pose. Of course an all natural environment would be swell, but I like this full on hand-of-man setting. Perhaps toning down the brightest band would help with the BG IMO, and I'd also try to eliminate the thin grayish streak near the top.

    I would go for a vertical crop ! No doubt about it ! If you have the space you can reduce it a bit to not loose too much IQ.

    The owl looks cute but I am sorry the background doesn't look good at all to me.

    I agree with above comments, would like to see a different BG and vertical crop. TFS.

    Thanks all.the background is were the little chap was born,just a pile of old rusty RSGs ,unfortunately at this site it is surrounded by old farm machinery and its were they tend to venture to,

    Hi Dennis, beautiful little guy. You are so fortunate to have your owls to photograph. Lovely image, I agree with him looking grumpy... maybe just woke up. If mine I would try a vertical crop, 4x5 vertical. A wonderful image as is, thank you for sharing.
