Very small crop and I cloned out a little stray grass in LLC.
These tern are really small- 9 inches long.
    I love that long toenail.
I hope this image gets a better reception than my pelican!!

Gail, Like the head turn and wing spread. I think you nailed the whites. Presented just as they look in the field to me. The background and beach look good. I would be tempted to sharpen the eye a little more. Ye, a I like the toenail. Also good job getting this small bird near full frame.

What a striking bird. Beautifully captured and the processing is lovely.

I like the wing position, HA, open beak, exposure and setting. Excellent image Gail!

I just love these little terns -- my favorites. Great wing stretch, exposure, POV, and yes, the toenail. Well done.

I'd move this a little more forward in the frame. From my POV there's too much negative space in front of it.
Other than that you just nailed this from every aspect.
    Congrats!

Like the composition, bird/wing pose and POV. Opened beak is a plus too. Well done!

Well exposed with a super nice pose, good light, open beak, eye contact. Composition wise I'd add a tiny bit to the bottom and take away from the right.

Those outstretched wings make a great compositional line in this image! Basically perfect image in all regards in my opinion. The retentive part of me wishes the shell did not merge with the feet...but it's mainly only noticeable because there are so few shells in the image....nature....perfectly imperfect :) I like how you handled the foreground in this frame too.
