    Worth to buy if have no 500/600 f4 ?

    Yes they can be had for about $7500 if you look around...however, a used 600mm F4 II (for about $9000) is a better lens - because it provides more versatility (F4). With the version 3 TC, the 600mm F4 II (now an 840mm F5.6) will focus as fast as the 80mm F5.6, and the images will be as sharp...and weigh about one pound less. However, if you get a good deal on the 800mm F5.6, it is a fine lens.. Much depends upon the price you can negotiate for either lens used.

    Last days on ebay there was an fairly priced 800 f5.6 with UZ code , app. 6700 $ İ think ; so took my attention , because ı have neither 500 or 800

    After introduction of 600 f4 IS ii i think , more 800's will appear on second-hand market

    You don't say which body you're using, but check 500mm and 600mm prices at Camera Canada before spending $8,000 on a 800mm. Also, consider a Series I 500mm or 600mm. I think that either Series II is more versatile than the 800mm.
