    Default Verdin in song

This was another of my target birds from Arizona, but it took until the last hour of the last day of the trip before I heard that high song and knew I had found my bird. Following the sound led me to this pretty little guy, a lifer for me.

Congratulations!!, Bill. What a beauty. Great way to end your quest for the target / lifer bird. Beautiful light and nice details. Well done.

Excellent find and a beauty bird, Bill. Your story is so similar to my experience in Arizona.
I found my lifer Verdin behind the motel, on an empty lot in Tucson, on the last afternoon by chance.
Also, the song led me to the bird.

Good singing pose and nice perch. The background looks good, but if mine I'd tone down or smoothen (but not fully eliminate) both the long dark branch and brighter one in upper left corner. I'm glad things worked out for you and this species :-)

Congrats Bill, always great to get a new one. Well done. Like the singing pose, BG and perch (as well as the bird itself). How big a crop was this as although the details look good enough, a looser comp could also work nicely? Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you all for looking and commenting.

    Karl, interesting coincidence.

Daniel, I've toned down several branches in this repost.

Richard, this was a rather large crop; about 50% of full width. Here's a different approach to the crop. The bird is only slightly smaller in the frame, but I've added a bit more context.
