    I captured this Reed Bunting at the weekend. Thought I would try something different. Not sure if 'it works' though.

    Will, it nearly works for me, a couple of reservations - is it a large crop - there doesn't appear to be too much detail in the plumage and the tail is obscured by a couple of stems. I know it is dead easy for me to criticise sat here at home but had the tail not been obscured the image would have been a lot stronger.

    Not easy to get a clear shot of these little birds among the reeds but you almost did it William, just one reed stem spoiling it. Nice shot of the bird in it's environment.

    The habitat is nice but I agree the bird is quite soft and lacking in detail, even after sharpening, it's not a keeper unfortunately.

    As I have mentioned before, you cannot really "fix" a soft/hazy RAW file with sharpening...

    I have to agree about the sharpening. Didn't help much. I must say that it is not only obvious, but blatantly obvious when you post a shot from your 7D as opposed to your 5d. TFS
