    Default Godwit's Graceful Graze

    Attached Images Attached Images

This Marbled Godwit lightly grazed the water with its bill while wading near Ft. Desoto last week. (Distant laughing gull removed from the bg)
Nikon D300, 300 2.8, shot wide open, iso 200, 1/3200, got wet and sandy for this one.

Excellent POV that has revealed those wonderful BG layers. It was worth getting wet and sandy.
I like the water trail also.
I wish the foot had cleared the leg but certainly not a deal breaker.
Nice to have the catchlight as well.
    Enjoyed viewing this,
    Gail

Nothing like those ft desoto backgrounds...lovely. I'm with Gail on the legs, and do wish for the bird's head to be turned every so slightly toward us. I think that a slightly looser composition could work as well as the one you chose, just as an alternative presentation.

Hi Robert, lovely low angle here, which in turn has the Godwit posed against that multi coloured BG. Comp wise, I would try a version with a little more space on the LHS.

A fine shot lovely angle and colours. Perhaps the bird is just a tad large in the frame, I think Stu has a good idea.

Hi Robert all works for me here .
Great low POV, the colors , the creamy BG and the comp .
I might only lower the contrast overall , does look a wee bit heavy to me.
