    Species
    Common Name: Gang-gang Cockatoo
    Scientific Name: Callocephalon fimbriatum

    Date: 14/3/2015

Location: Clear Creek, NSW (North of Bathurst)

    Camera Details
    Brand/Model: Canon 1DX
    Lens: 500mm F4 IS v1

    Camera Settings
    ISO: 500
    F-Stop: @f4
    Shutter Speed: 1/4000s
Exposure Bias/Metering/Flash: 1/3 stop off leaves

Technique: Mounted on my Gitzo 3542LS tripod and used in conjunction with my Jobu Pro2 Gimbal head. I slowly moved closer and closer to the bush, similar to my other Gang-gang picture where after about 20 minutes, I was within minimum focusing distance of this female Gang-gang.

Post Production: Slight exposure boost to the shadows and highlight reductions. A combination of detail enhance with Nik and a 25% unsharpen mask used for bringing out the fine feather detail.

Hi Scott, very happy looking subject here - looks like it is quite enjoying feasting on the fruit! Bummer about the branch and leaves across the subject, but in conjunction with the rest of the foliage (which I like) it provides for a strong sense of environment. I still would have preferred it not there, but realize that can be quite a challenge!! I do wish you had more room left and a bit above though.
