    Default Tundra Swans Taking Flight

    D7000 w/Tamron 150-600mm @ 600mm, tripod mounted
    ISO equivalent 800; f/6.3, 1/1600 sec; MM -0.33
    Standard CS6 adjustments; part of a trailing swan and distracting background tree trunks were removed by cloning

    As shown in this image, Tundra Swans take off by rapidly flapping their wings, and literally running across the water until they become airborne.

    All comments and suggestions are welcome.

    You might name this a study in black and white, I love this one, nice balance on the DOF.

    Very nice! I love how the "gait" is shown, especially in the back one on the right. Very nice splashes shown, and nice tonalities.

    This image is very well timed and appears that lighting was difficult but still a great result.

    Really like this, Norm! Great action, good whites... the two swans at center stage help anchor the image and emphasize all the action going on around them.

    Nice image. Variety of flight positions and it portrays the usual chaos that is a swan takeoff

    Maybe a slight crop from top and bottom to make it more panoramic?
