    not as nice as what you guys have been posting but i finally got the background the way i want it

    Stuart:

    Good low shooting angle, soft bg as you mentioned, seed in mouth a plus.

    Good job adjusting f/stop to maximize the dof. Enough of the bird is in focus to be effective.

    On my monitor, I wish the bird was slightly brighter in relationship to the background.

    Really like the BG, but as Randy pointed out, the bird is relatively dark; this is a situation where fill flash would help greatly. What exactly did you mean when you said that you finally got the BG the way you wanted it?

    Tthanks guys . this shot was taken late october of last year and i just got a new monitor this week. i aslo see it as quite dark on my new screen but i cant find the original raw image to try and correct it.
    What i meant about the background Doug ,is that i finally got it far enough from the subject to to blur it out nicely.
