This species has been a nemesis bird for me; it is not common in my neck of the woods. While birding in SE Arizona last week I mentioned this to a local birder, whose tip lead me to this cooperative pair. A drizzly morning offered decent light. Some may wish for a head turn in my direction from the drake. I have a frame like that, but I rather liked the way his attention is focused on his mate in this frame. C&C appreciated.

Hi Bill, great low shooting angle and love that both are looking at each other. I also like how we can see the different colours on both sexes. Lovely pastel blues to the water, and the visible droplets on both ducks takes this up a few notches. Well captured.
Thanks everyone. Joe, I tried a crop with more of the reflection, but since the reflection was far less than mirror-like, it seemed to distract from the beautiful redheads.
