Sparrow Hawk
Set up on feeders through the window. What should turn up but this. Sat 5 foot away for several minutes..He didn't get anything flew around in a circle then landed back next to the feeder.
At first I though curse that blasted feeder in the background but then I realised it showed the whole story about Sprawks taking birds in gardens around feeding stations
Could clone the feeder out I suppose (when I have the odd couple of hours )

Nice job of PP on this bird, he pops off the background really well. Love the eye, it's really staring something down. If I was going to clone on anything, I'd take out that bit of branch blocking the bottom right tail feathers and repair the tail. While not the most artful shot with the feeder left in, I agree with you that this image certainly tells a good story.
Thanks John
I think taking the feeder out would be slightly easier than your suggestion ! Taking out the branch and rebuilding the tail would not be my forte I,m afraid!
Thanks for your interest

Just had one of these guys (Sharp-shinned Hawk) landed on the fence while having lunch. Did not stay unfortunately.
Excellent shot, John. Love the back view.
Nice image that tells a story of urban wildlife. Leave the feeder in, IMO it makes the image more interesting and one which all garden birders can identify with - if not like- you know what I mean.
