Love the vivid colors in this one and he really looks uncomfortable about his footing!

I know its wrong , but ducks on ice shots always make me smile!

Lovely colours on this one Roy, do you think a little clockwise rotation might help?

Lovely shot! Lots of snap, crackle and pop. Wish I had birds like this around here to have a go at.

Wonderful -- he looks like he's concentrating!! Breast feathers are a little blown out, but that doesn't take away from the humor! I agree on the rotation. Looks like you were in the same position we often are, of having to keep the center sensor on the head. Bit it got you good detail and sharpness here.

If they had a tailwind would they deploy their wings like sails??

looks good all around, but agree with a little rotation. It looks like it is going downhill....but maybe just me or my monitor :)

Really nice colors in this image Roy. I actually like the slight tilt in the view, it emphasizes this spoon-bill's fearful step! The background suites my eyes and works well with the duck. And I like the very clear reflection. If I had to be picky, I'd do something about that one bright spot below and to the right of the ducks rear end.

I've seen quite a few Shovelers in my area, but it's funny how the males are such a rare sight for me. Lots of females, but hardly any males. These guys have such amazing feathers, guess I have to look harder.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I did check on fLR and it didn't show any hot spots but maybe in processing the breast may have gotten a little hot. I had to use -2/3 EV to try and tame the hot spots. Maybe a little rotation wouldn't be bad. Moe, we always seem to see them in pairs so we have lots of males here.

I've never seen a Shoveler (yet!) Roy, much less a "skating" one! Nice capture! Agree on a bit of rotation...colors and iridescence are great.
