It's all good, Raybel. I like the partial body turn toward the camera, maintaining a very nice head angle. The light (late afternoon?) is soft, the background is soft, and the bird is sharp. The stilt is firmly planted on the widely-spread legs. I do see a bit of a halo (sharpening?) on the upper edges of the stilt body and beak. I'd love to have captured this image.

Beautiful light and low angle shot. I too can see the halos, but they are either from the compression, or an easy PP fix, so no big deal really. I could also see a version with a bit more negative space to the left, but this would mean a near square crop, which I know is not always a popular choice.

Overall though, its a well captured shot with some great detail, especially given the contrasty colouring on the stilt, and I too would like to have this one in my folders

Thank you for the comments guys. The halo is due to a very small chromatic aberration in the original file, around the head and beak of the bird. It is not noticeable in the larger file but when compressed to a smaller size it showed as a halo. I will try and correct this in the original file.

Ray, I'm not sure it gets any better than this! Love the blue in the bg, possibly by your low angle.

Stunning Stilt! Lovely light against the subdued BG makes the bird stand out nicely, with such a great pose. Halo easily fixed. My personal preference would see 1/2" off the bottom and added to the top. Nicely done.
