    Hi Everyone!
Feel a little bit like Sheldon Cooper and Fun with Flags

Smoke image turned 90 degrees. Shot with a stobe to create multiple images on single exposure.
    All C&C welcome.

Love it! Good to see you back with more amazing images! Did you use the "multiple" flash setting, or fire the flash off manually?

On this I used the Multiple flash setting with a limit of 5 at 20hz (I think). Lately, I tend to use a strobe or two so as to avoid misfires and delays between power cycles.
    Here is my current setup...

It's good to have you back. I'm always fascinated with these images. The colors, lines, and the variation in translucence are really appealing. Images like this are wonderful on their own, and it's fun to make duplicate layers to see what happens with various flips, blend modes, and opacities.

Cool! Love the super fluid lines and the blues! I really like seeing your set-up as for me, a picture is worth a thousand words of explanation! I saw on Facebook that you use incense for producing the smoke. That's a great idea.

    Hey Steve,

Way cool. Thanks for sharing your set-up. What is the smoke from? Why is it blue?

Thanks, Artie! The smoke is from a burning incense stick and the blue is just a result of color balance and a slight nudge in PS. A longer, more complete description of the set up and processing is in three parts on my blog at... http://refineedge.com/smoke-photography-part-1/ - Hope this helps. :-)
