    Default White-breasted Nuthatch

This fellow and his family are common visitors to the feeders behind my house. This time, I caught him on the River Birch in front of the house. Light was fairly dim, thus the fill flash. Cropped from vertical. I would have liked the tail to be in focus, but I do like the oof leaves as they are, so I'm not sure a smaller aperture would have been the right trade-off.

    D7000, 700mm, ISO 800, 1/800s @ f/6.3 manual, fill @ -1.7.

Very well done, Bill, and nice use of flash. I like the BG quite a bit b/c it's unique. Very nice feather details and fun pose.

Hi Bill, we dont get these guys here, but I am so used to seeing these guys on the site with their trademark pose - great. Overall, well exposed on the nuthatch, and I like how he is looking into the space you left him.

    Very nice.
I do not mind the tail being slightly OOF at all.
IQ is excellent and you have captured this "classic " nuthatch pose perfectly,

Nice shot, real classic pose. The BG is a bit different and suits the shot well. Detail well brought out with the flash.
