    I know some people may not like this because of the BG,busy,but I liked the pose and rock and it does show its environment,Johny Robinson one for you,cannon500mm IS,L,F4,1/4EX,FL700MM,tripod,iso200,1/250s,F5.6,crop,sharpened,levels,removed some bird lime,toned down some highlights in BG.comments good or bad.Thankyou.

    OK Chris no problem. I prefer image 2 as you say it is a bit brighter/more detail in the darker areas. Very pleasant composition and a lovely pose. Colours are good - nothing wrong with them but I wonder if you had thought about warming it up just a little, I suspect it would be worth a try just to see.

    The second repost looks pretty good. Nice pose, good details on whites and sharp.

    Hi Chris, pane #2 works for me. Lovely angled pose, and Im fine with the BG - the bird is separated nicely from the BG. Taking some off the top wont harm the image.

    Second post for me too. Very nice control of whites and shadow areas. Like your crop also.

    Hi Chris. Very natural looking image. Lovely looking bird. I wished i could get close to these, but never yet managed a good photograph of one like yours is Well done

    Nice "habitaty" shot Chris. I have several pairs near the house but they are not easy by any means
    .
    I keep looking at that pale stem above to the right of the head !!! Guess what I,m thinking !
