Saturday morning spent with one of my favorite birds. I had the beach to myself, He really let me move in close many times. He seemed like he wanted a little more distance when he was fishing. My t/c was on and off all morning. Unfortunately my 1.4 is broken leaving me with my less desired 1.7.

it is a very interesting pose, looks like he just had a new haircut. light was a bit harsh here and details look a bit coarse to my eye

    Robert:

Also one of my favorite birds when I visit Florida. I like his fluffed up pose, the softly rendered, layered background and the tiny bit of green as a little bonus.

Would present well as a vertical as well, but quite nice as a horizontal.

    Cheers

Nice pose and I like the the hair do too. The exposure looks good but I'm seeing the coarse look on my monitor also. Not sure if it's a crop or sharpening thing but I might try re-processing this one. Nice BG too.

Thanks for the feedback, I was recently reading about an additional round of sharpening before posting in this format. I backed off some here. Any Better?

Nice work Robert. I like it that you left the little piece of green vegetation and the repost looks good. Regards, Ian.

The RP is quite a bit better, Robert. I like how your piece of vegetation helps to balance the image, and it's what makes the horizontal work here. Love your BG.

    Robert:

Much better with RP. Certain images benefit from that last round of sharpening, but others look overdone. Case by case basis.

Excellent image Robert! I like the spike hairdo, layered BG, pose and composition. Repost is a big improvement.
