I look forward to your creations Mr. T K...you've been posting some gems on Naturescapes! Glad to see an offering here. As far as head shots, this is quite beautiful and unique with the flower/weed salad. Details and sharpness are spot on where they need to be. The diffused cloudy/sun catchlight in the sparrow's eye is excellent.

Nice close up and indeed sharp where it should be with great IQ. I like the plant in front of the bird. I think it would take some attention away if it was in focus. I think I would have raised the ISO and stop down for more DOF if there was a chance. TFS.

As a fan of bird portraits this one is getting a couple of thumbs up from me. Super nice details on the face. I do agree a bit more dof would have been good for the body area but overall this is very appealing. I even like the food debris on the bill.

The head is mega sharp and love the deatil in that eye Tim. The blending warm tones throughout the composition all work beautifully - lovely image!

Great image. I really like how the flowers in the back helps with the image as showing what the bird is eating. Well done. I do agree a bit of more DOF would had help but is not a deal breaker.

Different portrait in a good kind of way!
Agree on a bit more DOF but still nice as is,

I have photos of it at f11 and still the shoulder is soft and the BG has more detail/lines. When you're that close to a bird the DOF is very narrow no matter the F-stop. I had to go with a reasonable shutter because their bills are always moving.
