This is one of two chicks reared by just the male bird this being the younger bird, don't know what happened to the female.
It's a bit sad because I am 99% sure that this young bird had a problem with one of it's eyes and was having a job feeding ,I did try to catch it when it was roosting without success hoping to take it to the vet, also left dead mice for food but I have not seen this bird around which makes me think that it did not make it.
Will put another image showing the damaged eye, hope this is ok with the Mods if not please remove it.

    Keith.

It's a cute photo with the downy head feathers still hanging on. Looking quite vulnerable and afraid...staying in the safety comfort of home. Some of the white wash could be toned down IMO. Bummer about the bad eye, you did all you could. Many raptors only catch food when the prey is alive, perhaps this species is similar in that way...

Hi Keith, now I get the picture, sorry no pun, but I see what you mean about the location, but hey that's what they use, any port in a storm.

I like the off set placement, but wished for the whole crop to move down, so the 'weight' is at the foot of the image. Selectively dropping the exposure on the dropping would be good, likewise dropping the blue. Nice detail & clarity, that kit is awesome and great to see your fieldcraft is allowing you to work so closely.

Hi Keith, I like the pose peering out the safety of his 'house', and you have brought out the plumage detail nicely. Love their colours. Its never good to see an injured subject.
