    Default Limpkin portrait

    Canon 7D
    Canon 400mm 5.6L
    Aperture Priority
    1/1000
    f/5.6
    +2/3 EV
    ISO 400

Here is an image of a Limpkin I captured at one of the Disney World lakes while on vacation last week.

I just picked up this very clean used 7D the week before and I'm still trying to get used to it.

    Thanks!

Just beautiful. Love the pose and comp. More DOF for the shoulder would improve it IMO.

Beautiful portrait. Exposure and sharpness of the head spot on. The eye really stands out.

Nice light and superb details on the face and bill. I'm usually OK when the eye and face are sharp but I agree more dof would have been good here - you had enough light to raised the ISO and stop down - always easier to pin-point in hindsight though eh!

Thanks for everyone's great comments and suggestions.

Yes, in hindsight I should have stopped down a bit to increase my DOF, which is one thing I need remember to do but seem to forget when the subject is so close. If I remember correctly this Limpkin was about 20-25ft standing on a piling so I'm guessing I would have needed at least f9 to f11 to gain another 4" or so of DOF?
