I captured this image last year on one of my ventures to Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. I recently reworked the image changing the post processing and composition. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Really like the high-key look Joe! Why not push it all the way and get rid of the subtle blue/gray areas of the BG. I also like the small green twig on the otherwise bare twisted branch.

Joe, this looks great! Love the lines of the perch, and well exposed on what could have been a difficult situation to the uninitiated. Did you take some verticals too?

Good work Joe, I like this version very much. Interesting twisted perch, nice feather detail, and the distance gaze of the bird also seems to work. The overcast conditions create a 'grey' mood in harmony with the bird. All good, well done. Cheers, Ian

Doug, thank you for viewing and commenting. I will try your suggestion regarding pushing it all the way to high key on a virtual copy in Lightroom. Thank you for taking an interest.

Daniel, thank you for viewing and commenting. Yes, I do have verticals also. That was my first choice, but then I worked up this horizontal and like the mood it created with the grey day.
