Nice moment frozen, nice pose. BG as clean as can be with a color that complements the bird's colors. Interesting that there was still a little wing blur at 1/4000s - shows how quick they go! It's not distracting though - well done!

Cracking looking bird caught very well, I like the wing motion that Tobie mentions it adds to my enjoyment of this fine looking image ,BG sets it off beautifully.

Great timing to catch him just at the moment of touchdown. Nice turn of the head.

Great looking setup landing shot. I like the colors of this handsome male and he looks great against that smooth tan BG. Detail and exposure are right on too. Wish the nictitating membrane wasn't closed. well done

For sure I would darken the pupil as that is almost the first thing I saw even before seeing David's comment. Awesome perch and background...and the subject looks great. Did you pre-focus on the perch and wait for the bluebird to come in?

    Thanks everyone for the comments.

@Daniel - Its not pre-focused. I configured my 1D-X to use AF preset 'case 3', and waited for the bird. I darkened the pupil now, please take a look at the repost.

I'd take this shot in a heartbeat. It's flamboyant and simple at the same time.
