Ah, it was finally a nice spring weekend...after the long winter we had to endured (even with all those Snowy Owls) it is a refreshing change! A bit of an impromptu setup as I was not at that location for Tree Swallows but when I saw they were cooperating I had to try them on a nicer perch
Canon 7D + 500mm F/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2000s., f/8, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, small crop for comp, darkened pupil, lightened iris, audio used to lure subject onto perch.
Very nice shot of the Tree Swallow! These guys are really hard to expose right, but you nailed the exposure here. Love that feather details, head angle and the perch. Very nice background too. I see some banding in the background, but not sure whether it's my monitor or not.
Perfect pose, HA and perch for this beautiful little Swallow. The colors are great and the varied BG really looks nice with the birds colors. Nice frame Daniel
Lovely picture. You got everything working for you in this one. the pose, HA, the perch, the "feature" in the perch adds so much. the whites are good, above all you got the perfect angle from the sun to show off the beautiful sheen on the feathers... LIke it
