    Default Gartered Trogon

This used to be a sub-species of the Violaceous Trogon, but has now acquired it's own species: Trogon caligatus. The problem with Trogons is they always seem to be up in the branches, and in low light (thus the high ISO and resultant IQ). But I like the matching accessories: the safron eye-ring and breast. From the Lamanai ruins in Belize in February.

Indeed too high up and the ISO was pushed far as well, but a beautiful bird for sure. I bet you had a lot of fun in Belize. TFS.

Grand looking fella Bill. Well done in the conditions you describe.

Great given the lighting you had to deal with, Bill. What a beautiful bird. I might crop in a little from the top.
