    Default Bald Eagle banking

A few weeks ago we were standing at the lake when this fellow suddenly appeared out of nowhere. He was so close that he filled the frame, and I clipped the upper wing tips. And not being ready, I underexposed him. I had to add some canvas on three sides, repair the primaries, and recover the exposure in Capture NX2, doing my best to mitigate the noise with Topaz. Three seconds later I recovered my wits and got him going away with a large fish in his talons.

D7000, 700mm, ISO 800, 1/2500s @ f/6.3 manual, gitzo and mongoose. Sorry Artie, didn't realize I was following your primary repair image with one of my own 2 minutes later.

Fantastic image Bill. I think the composition and pose are perfect. Good job on the fix I wouldn't have known if you didn't mention it.

Really cool landing pose, light and specie! If mine, I would boost the temperature a tad.

Great image with a superb banking pose. My only problem was the heavy blue cast on the Eagle. I tried to adjust the color a bit in PS. Also maybe adding a bit of temp like Juan suggested in raw could help.

Excellent banking pose you have captured here ,Bill Sir.
Agree about blue cast. I like the wing position and fanned tail feathers, nice HA and huge talons.
    Very nice composition too.

    Regards,
    Satish.

The repost by Raybel eliminated the blue cast which I would have commented on. Otherwise it is an excellent image, Bill.

Great capture, Bill. Like the detail plus the not often seen extended alula (thumb), and the banking position in the appearance out of nowhere moment. Excellent post work.

This image is stunning Bill! The outstretched wings with their multiple layers and underwing light. The fanned tail feathers and dangling feet. The white feather detail on the head and that wonderfully determined look and the parchment bg all contribute to this perfectly framed image.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate the comments. Juan Carlos and Ray, thanks for pointing out the blue cast -- I don't know how I could have missed that. Ray's repost really helps. I've gone back and fixed the master file.
