I was inspired by another photographer to try taking pictures of smoke. It is pretty addictive and much like an ink blot test :D

The original of this one has the entire "pedestal" which looks pretty cool for the wizard that I see here. I uploaded the closer crop because the details get lost at small size.

    The setup was:
    D2X with 105mm
    1/250 @ f5.0
Two Remote flashes SB R200 with blue gels
A black non reflective velvetine BG
Manual focus and exposure shot in total darkness.
    Five incense cones

I didn't do much to it post shutter compared with some of the other smoke images I have. Mostly some dodge and burn on the "folds in his robe."

Thanks Al, for some reason I stopped half way on the setup, I'll add the rest.

Very interesting idea, like looking for shapes in clouds :)

Great set up and it looks like a lot of fun to try.

Looking forward to other variations :)

Really nice image! How many images did you have to shoot to get one with such nice curves and movement?

That day I probably shot a couple hundred in blue and then a couple hundred more in red. I've also done some green. I've since learned that if I can get a good image with no colored filter, the effect is simple to reproduce in any color I want in PS. I haven't tried that yet, but will soon.
