    Default From TIFF to JPEG

All of my TIFFS are generally stored in a A3 size for printing. I am having considerabe difficulty in reducung them to the size necessary for posting and am losing both sharpness and colour rendition in the process. I use the Advance JPEG compressor. Can anyone point me in the direction of a workflow that will better preserve the quality of the original?

Are you saving the A3 sized images with output sharpening? Or, as a working file with capture and creative sharpening only, duplicating the file and thereafter sizing and applying output sharpening for the media and intended use.

There should be no visable alteration of color if the profile remains the same. You will typically need to add additional sharpening when downsizing. You can use Image size in CS3 to downsize (Ctrl Alt I), with Bicubic Sharper changing the horz or vert to 750 pixels, etc. Additionally, there are plug-ins for JPEG...I have been using Box Top Pro for years. http://www.boxtopsoft.com/projpeg.html
