    Default Ruddy Turnstone

While common and easy to overlook, turnstones can provide good opportunities to practice. This one was on the prowl looking for something tasty.

Rob you are right in what you say about these being common but must say it is a bird that I find difficult to get to look right, you look to have exposed this one very well and it looks sharp, think that blue Bg really helps to give lift to this very good looking image.

Glad you didn't overlook this beauty. I like your image, it is well exposed, colorful, uncluttered, with nice eye contact. Using just a hint of sharpening (or detail extractor if you use the NIK suite) wouldn't hurt on the feathers just above his eye. (That's being really picky on my part.)
