    Ian,

Very nice photo. Like the pattern on the feathers and it looks like the focus is spot on. Was there any PP done to the nesting area in front of the Pintail? Not sure if you cropped from the right or left of the frame but It seems like to me there should be a little more room on the right (where the Pintail is looking).

This so works for me! Beautiful nesting image. Only suggestions are that there is a bit too much blue on the back of the bird's neck...and perhaps in certain areas of the water. BG looks a bit odd/bright and/or noisy? I would actually do a teeny bit less on the right (may also help minimize the black-ish reeds there) ...and a REALLY teeny bit more on the left. Very serene, lovely image!

Very nice environmental portrait! Exposure and sharpness look excellent.

I'd like more room on the left -- the tail is a little crowded. You might compare a crop from the right to loose the small piece of dark vegetation there, but not a big deal. I don't usually feel that a stationary subject needs a lot of room to look into. I could see it with a little off the top, too.

I don;t mind the blue -- it's a nice complement to the warm tones.

    Ian,

Excuse my comment on the cropping. I just looked at the photo on my monitor at home and can see that there is more then enough room on the right.
