    Default Bicolored Hawk

Took this one in March. I was in the car when I saw this little guy standing on a fence.
When I arrived home, I realized that one of the nails was out of the frame. Tried to clone one from another picture but it seems i'm not skilled enough and the wire of the fence

    150mm
    ISO 1600
    f/ 5.6
    1/500th

FF, cloned 1 OOF branch, basic adjustments (LR) and NR.

Have you tried cropping off the bottom of this picture and cropping the top off another where the nail/claw is showing, then use FILE/AUTOMATE/Photomerge on PS?

Maybe PS does everything for you ;)

Nice hawk by the way ;)

    Shane's suggestion may work!

Lovely warm light in this image. I would explore different crops. This one has a bit too much space to the right in my opinion. A small CW head turn towards you would be great. If you can get the guy on a natural perch, even better!

That's a good gone. I'm going to try it.

I have to be honest.... when shooting raptors/scavengers I like to "play" with empty spaces according to the angle of the head. I'll try a vertical crop, due to the space I have on the left.

If everything works, I'll do a repost.

The crop would work better for me if the empty space weren't quite so homogeneous. If there was an interesting OOF branch there, even if it was very subtle, it would balance the hawk better.
