Default News that the first images ever of the Night Parrot have been taken.

In the last couple of days a guy well know in the ornithological community here in Australia, John Young, has come out with the first photographs, video and sound recording of the elusive Night Parrot. This species has NEVER been photographed and has had only a few confirmed sightings in the last 130 years. There are only 12 specimens in museums world wide I believe. This guy has made big claims before, discovering a new species of Fig Parrot and taking a photo of it - this claim and photo have been called into doubt as the image was examined by a photographic forensic expert who expressed doubts, but this does look like the real deal. Claims to have taken 100's of photographs by torch light, HD video as well and has just presented his images and video to some of the leading people here in Aus. Just hope this guy is not having us on.

I have provided a link below for those interested.

As many here are bird photographers just imagine the thrill of being the first person to photograph any species let alone a bird.
