Default I Think I Can Fly

Some of the older Oystercatcher chicks are testing their wings. This is a behavior that I have wanted to capture for some time now , without much success. Last night paid off as I got some images that I liked.
Did a little cleanup in CS6 ans a slight crop as well.
Can the Tern chicks be far behind?

This is awesome Joe. Chick is sharp as a tack, great dynamic pose. I love the vegetation you left in. Light is beautiful. Exposure is great. You even have really nice DOF on the chick, love it.

Great capture, Joe. The bird is posed and angled just right to catch the side lighting, and you've got him nice and sharp, at the perfect moment. I could imagine just a slivver off the top. Nicely done!

You sure were blessed with gorgeous light and super behavior/action. The details in your chick are awesome. Love the sense of movement here and the inclusion of your environmental elements.

Great moment and setting! I'd vote will Bill to trim down the top -- I'd go halfway to the wingtip.

Hi Joe, well timed for the 'full of life' running pose, and great you you captured the wings raised. I do like the light, sharp feather detail, and if this were mine, I would take a bit off the top, and add a touch more to the bottom.

Too cute!! I love the flimsy feathers hanging off the wings and the foot digging in the sand. Nice light, exposure, pose. Comp works well for me. I too like the vegetation...most of it. I'm not as fond of the ones merging with the subject, and the two spots below the bill should go IMO.
