Default Piping plover and shell at sunset

I had probably the nicest light that I have ever experienced for this image. There was a dark gray cloud sitting just above the horizon and one higher in the sky. 20 minutes before sunset, the sun shone in between the two and created the warmest, richest, most concentrated light that I have ever seen. Thankfully, I had a subject and when he posed beside the little shell, I was a happy girl. I hope you enjoy this image as much as I enjoyed creating it. I'll probably trim a bit from the bottom and then from the left before finalizing this one....what do you think?

My favorite part of all this is your detailed description, many thanks for that. Indeed: what beautiful light! I like your picture as-is but I don't believe it could be hurt by a slight trim, as you've suggested...

Grace, I love this. I really like how the plover stands out in beautiful light. I also love the sweet blue puddles of water and the shell adding to the comp. Nice image

Grace - I could tell from the thumbnail that it was gorgeous light. Your description makes it even better. Beautiful image. The shell and little puddles just take it over the top. Not sure I would change a thing.

Perfect IQ as usual, Grace, but I think I am liking the previous image better than this one b/c of all those dips in the sand.

A fine example of where the ultra low angle is not always best. Perfect shooting angle on this one and a
just a brilliant image with the light quality/exposure, shell, and plover's shadow too!

Great shot Grace. I love the light and the scene with the shell. The blue in the sand add allot to this nice image. Nice work

Nice one Grace. I like the environment as presented. Bird looks good. Can't wait to get out a shoot these guys again real soon.
