    This goldfinch was telling the house sparrow to get out of the way becasue he wanted to get to the feeder but the sparrow was having none of it.
    All C&C welcome.

    Awwwww...now you're really rubbing salt into my wounds....not just a great image of a Goldfinch of which I've yet to achieve, but one in full vocal action....an awful lot to like about this image, and nothing I would suggest to change. { I think I'll just go stand in the corner and sulk for a while now }

    Very nice image Jon. Exposure is right on, sharp and crisp, super background and great action.

    Those Goldfinch sure are are feisty little devils!

    Hi Jonathan,
    BG- perfect
    IQ- excellent
    Light -lovely.
    Perch- nice size and very nice with the lichens
    Interaction- very cool. Love the finch. Is it an optical illusion that the sparrow seems a lot bigger than the finch?
    My only wish would be that the sparrow had been looking at the finch but then the title wouldn't work!

    Thanks Phil, Gerald & Gail, I took the image yesterday, I was lucky to get a number of different birds interacting.
    The sparrow Gail is considerably larger than the goldfinch, in fact the goldfinch is a pretty small bird, the other finches such as bullfinch and greenfinch are considerably larger. The chaffinch is a similar size to the goldfinch, though I would say a tad larger..

    Great IQ on this one Jon. Like everything about this one, especially the Goldfinch, he looks awesome and could make a great frame on his own. The shot is very pleasing and crisp. Well done

    Lovely image, the finch doesn't like to give any place to the sparrow ( you got some spare space in your garden , think i would like to place myself there )
    IQ is superb, action is lovely " story is there" BG is superb, everything is right.

    The image might have been more dramatic with if the goldfinch had raised its wing, but as is, the image is faultless and impressive.

    Hi Jon, incredible IQ here, and just love the overall light quality too. Both subjects tack sharp, good DOF on the overall image, and the interaction captured works well. Did I mention how great your BG is.

    Excellent timing, Jon. Superb light, IQ and interaction captured against a great bg on a great perch. Nothing I'd change here. But if you twisted my arm really hard, I'd say get rid of the hair (?) on the perch between the two birds.
