I like the low angle, light, exposure, eye contact and composition. Excellent image Mike.

Beautiful color, I do wish for a slight head turn to avoid the eye shadow.
    Very nice shooting angle!

    Mike:

The low angle gives great subject isolation, handsome bird, well exposed, looks cold!

Yes, eye shadow not ideal. I think a little subtle work will even it out a bit without looking unnatural.

    Cheers

Hi Mike, getting low and cold in the snow has worked out well. Well exposed and love the soft light and colours of the BG. Agree, a subtle lightening of the right eye should improve that area.

Congrats on ending off your year with this fine image.

I would certainly be happy myself with this one. I really love the gorgeous light. If this were mine I would lighten the shadow on the right eye as I think it would really improve the image

Beautiful colour and lighting. I like the low POV. The owl's right eye could be brighten up a bit to match the left eye.
