Loving this new lens. Had a chance to visit Bush Gardens on Trade this week. Weather here has been really unpleasant as far as light goes but I left with a few keepers

    Cheryl:

Lovely soft light, love the spray of feathers on the left , good eye contact, very sharp.

I wish I could see more at the top of the frame, more of the curve of the neck.

    Cheers

Glad you are loving the lens, and it looks like you are getting used to it quickly! Great colors and details in this one. I do wish for a bit more room on top if you have it.

Wow, this is awesome Cheryl! Superb colour that really pops and lovely eye contact. I quite like the comp personally, especially the feathers fanning in from the RHS,

Love the composition as is, Cheryl. This capture is unique and artistic. Your reds look blown in this version but an easy fix.

Cheryl, It is for sure a different composition which is cool, but I have the feeling that the image is cut off from the top (neck) and bottom (feathers). Did you try a vertical with inclusion of the neck and the feather points at the bottom?

Hi everyone and thanks for the input. I was trying for the full frame on this and just when the head angle was right the bird moved a bit and I clipped the neck from the start soo... I cropped it a bit more to where it felt OK. I tried to crop tighter but then the neck and head looked too separate soo... Any suggestions?

I like the feather detail, colours, eye contact and sharpness. I would like to see the top of the head too. I still think its a beauty as presented. Interesting image Cheryl!

Hi Cheryl, very artistic, and love the pose. Excellent detail in the feathers, and just love the striking colour of the flamingo.
