    WOW ! I really enjoyed this photo ! At first I thought "Gee ,I wish I could see more of the black dots of the eyes " then started recognizing the texture /pattern of the eyes and I think I like this best ! Well done !

    Beautiful diffused light. Nice details too. I'm not sure if this is cropped, but if so, I'd prefer a little off the top and a bit more on the bottom (would prefer the fore front "foot" in view). Lovely shot of a not so lovely creature. :)

    thanks everyone for comments
    crop is 5-10% for best compo
    I used also extension tube 20mm+180macro 1:1 and the hornet is a large insects

    Excellent, as soon as I saw it I thought wow that's close for a 180mm lens! You have deployed the Ext tubes very effectively - super focus and exposure, I agree shame about the leading leg, other wise excellent.

    Hi Carlo. Excellent exposure and sharpness around the head and the side lighting helps to bring out the surface texture of the hornet. In a perfect world, I would wish that we could see the tip of the antenna on the left and the rest of the front leg. Overall, this is very well done!
