    Default Dawn over Endless Lands

I was stoked to discover this sunrise shoot in my files from our road-trip to the Maluti Mountains (Golden Gate Highlands National Park) last year.

The view from the Highlands Mountain Retreat in this Park is unbeatable. The log cabins sit right at the edge of this valley overlooking the splendour below.

This is a blend of 3 exposures to control dynamic range in the scene.

    Techs:
    Canon 7D with Canon 10-22mm USM @ 10mm
    f11 @ ISO 100

    This is beautiful Morkel. Majestic...

I think I would rather see a Pano crop of this as I feel it would compliment the wide expanse before you. Problem is I would not want to crop much or anything off this (maybe a slither off the bottom if at all..). So, any other frames you could stitch onto the edges to get the pano? (especially RHS?)

I recognise the valley to the left from a previous post of yours.

Very dramatic and well done! It would be intersting to see a pano crop, but I quite enjoy this as is.

Morkel - very dramatic and I like the detail in the fg so it is not overwhelmed by the dark clouds and vibrant sky.

    Hey Morkel,
I really like the lines of this as presented! Very dramatic and sweeping lines make this a winner.

Terrific photo, Morkel, the lines lead very nicely and the exposure and light is very nice.

Love it, your landscapes are as grand as they come. Why so much noise in the sky for ISO 100...did you add texture to it?

Thanks James. I think I may have pushed shadow recovery in the darker exposures a bit - was shooting with the 7D after all
