    Default Costa Rica Waterfall

Here is a shot from one of my Costa Rica workshops last March. Spent most of an afternoon at this great location working different angles on this beautiful waterfall.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this image.

Hi Keith. What a gorgeous spot (and I wish I could join you in CR for your workshop!) Shutter speed is right-on to get that beautiful smooth appearance and the lighting is wonderful. I find the branch on top quite distracting. I might crop off a bit of the top (a touch above the fork in the branch) to make it less dominant.

    Keith,

Composition is nice with the framing on the left and right. I think I would like this better w/o the branch FG top. I suggest local contrast enhancement either with Unsharp Mask on BG copy or Nik CEP Tonal Contrast.

I love the streaky water here Keith. Nice location it would seem. That branch is a bit distracting, Ian's crop suggestion will work nicely (tried a 'screen-crop')
Overall handling of the dynamic range is good IMHO.
